Ice Diving 2005

Ice Diving 2005 Diver Needs

Ice Diver Candidate,

Items to bring for ice diving!

Sturdy long handle snow shovel, if available, a large tent, if available, tarps to lay on the snow to lay gear on, dry clothing bags to lay on the tarp, several extra pairs of gloves in order to keep your hands warm when you are not diving, waterproof boots, dry socks, dive gear, cylinders filled with nitrox or air. It would be a good idea to bring a small water container with water, a few snacks to nibble on to keep your energy up.

We will be spending several hours working on the ice, digging the spokes of the wheel, drilling holes, cutting the sides of the hole, hauling equipment from the vehicle out to the dive site. You will be in the snow. Depending on the depth, it could be up to your knees. So bring clothing to keep you dry and warm, this includes a hat. In case, it is snowing, or raining, be prepared to get wet on the surface, prior to getting changed into your wet/dry suits.

Money for food, lodging and gas.
