Your Trip to Cozumel would not be complete without a visit to one of the Maya Areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. CHICHEN - ITZA
The most important civic and religious center of the Maya. Located 200 miles from Cozumel on the mainland. The tour is by 12 passenger plane landing in the archaeological area. You will visit the main buildings: 'The Castle', the 'Warrior's Temple' and 'The Cenote'. The tour runs only several days a week and space is limited and fills up early. It is best to book this tour before you arrive in Cozumel. Bring along comfortable shoes, a hat and camera. Please be advised video cameras will pay a fee of US $10 to be brought into the park. The use of tripods is discouraged. Tour includes: All entrance fees, round trip air and bilingual guide. Not included: lunch, airport tax and transfers to airport in Cozumel. For a full refund, cancellations and date changes need to be made at least with 24 hours notice. No refunds for same day cancellations.
X-CARET PARK
NATURE'S SACRED PARADISE
For a change of scene, spend a day in this spectacular natural park. Experience exotic flora and fauna. Enjoy a mystical journey back in time while drifting through 'THE UNDERGROUND RIVER' (45 minutes floating over 1,500 feet of crystalline water).
SWIM WITH DOLPHINS PROGRAM (extra charge/no reservations). Swim in a pool carved from rock or lie on the beach soaking the sun. Four restaurants serving Mexican cuisine and seafood. Trip is by ferry boat to the mainland and taxi, leaving at 8:45 AM to return at 7 PM. Lunch is not included. Please avoid using sun screen in the river.
Tulum is a smaller Maya complex, considered the most beautiful of all Maya sites, it is a walled city located on a cliff facing the Caribbean Sea. Trip is guided daily by ferry boat to the mainland and air conditioned bus. You must be at the downtown pier at 8:45 AM to return by 7 PM. Xel-Ha is a natural aquarium lagoon where you can swim and snorkel. Bring your own snorkeling equipment and a towel. Lunch is not included.
